Synopsis: The story takes place in Shanghai in the 1920s when military conflicts frequently occur. Young boy Shen Qi Nan’s family experiences a terrible tragedy. His father is killed after unwittingly gets involved in a smuggling case. His mother died in her escape. He and his four siblings escaped to Shanghai but they were forced to seperate.
